The phone rang sharply at 4:00 a.m., slicing through the dense veil of night like a knife. Startled awake, Ronda felt a cold shiver run down her spine as she answered. Her father was on the other end, his voice quivering. He mentioned a cryptic call about Ronda's grandfather, a respected New York City detective, found wandering incoherently through the streets of lower Manhattan. The mystery of the call hung in the air, filling Ronda with a growing sense of dread. Her grandfather was taken to Terry Hill Hospital for observation. Yet, inexplicably, he died there, with no autopsy or tangible reason for his death, just months after his admission.

Now it was up to Ronda to find out who was behind the call to threaten her father and the rest of the family. She has to uncover what happened in her family's past, and the old records hold the key. Her search takes her through these records and inside the old abandoned hospital campus where her grandfather died forty-six years ago. Terry Hill, a security guard and former Naval intelligence officer, agrees to help Ronda solve the family's forty-six-year-old mystery. Together they search not only the hospital, but also walk through her grandfather's pass leading up to his mysterious death.
